11.8. Server database files

All messages and other data that is necessary for the proper operation of the IDERI note service is kept in database files with the extension “db”. On Windows 2000 the IDERI note service runs in the SYSTEM account (aka LocalSystem), which is an account that has no real profile directory on Windows® 2000. Therefore on Windows® 2000 these database files are located in the directory "%CommonProgramFiles%\ideri". On later versions of the Windows® operating system, the IDERI note service runs under the NetworkService account which, like SYSTEM, authenticates across the network as the AD computer account, but unlike SYSTEM is not a local administrator. This account actually has a non-roaming profile directory and therefore the database files for the IDERI note service are located under the NetworkService user’s profile in "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\ideri" on Windows® XP and Windows® Server 2003.

On Windows® Vista and Windows® Server 2008, the service database files are located under "%windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local\ideri".
